Part of this years "Japan WOW!," Smithsonian's Freer Gallery of Art (DC) will feature a day-long seminar featuring leading experts and industry veterans that will explore the development of manga and anime from "humble beginnings" to its massive track record. The 
discussion will focus on the creative process, styles, characters, and the effect these popcultural creations have on U.S. markets and trends. Speakers include:
Michael Uslan (Batman)
Ryuhei Kitamura (Azumi)
Mitsuhisa Ishikawa (Blood, Ghost in the Shell, Evangelion, Jin-Roh)
Kazuhiko Kato (Lupin III)
Hiroshi Koizumi (Spiral)
