"Tonari no Totoro's" Director, Hayao Miyazaki thwarts and helps stop plans to destroy "Totoro's forest." As you may know, the growth of trees near the Fuchi no Mori forest lands is best known as the real-life scenery inspiration for Miyazaki's "My Neighbor Totoro." As chairperson of the Council for the Preservation of Fuchi no Mori, Miyazaki met with the landowners and developers yesterday on behalf of the council: "Stop the Development. Let it remain green."
